Taking a different initiative amidst the country’s politics, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi taught martial arts and self-defense skills to the students of North East. A delegation of 18 students from North East came to take training from Rahul Gandhi in a special session organized in Delhi.
According to sources, both boys and girls participated in this delegation, who reached the program in proper martial arts attire. This group of students took part in an interactive session with Rahul Gandhi to learn self-defense techniques. During this time, Rahul Gandhi’s entire team is also present on the spot and special preparations were made for the program.
Security issue of North East students
In fact, the issue of violence and attacks on North East students in different parts of the country has been in discussion for some time. In this context, Rahul Gandhi has been continuously raising the issue of safety and respect of the students of North East. Taking this initiative forward, Rahul Gandhi is now going to give martial arts training to students for self-defense. It is being told that the objective of this session is to give confidence to the students and to give the message that they can protect themselves in any situation.
Rahul Gandhi’s old association with martial arts
Rahul Gandhi’s association with martial arts has been old. Rahul Gandhi is a black belt in Aikido. It is a traditional martial art of Japan, which is based on self-defense and balancing techniques. Aikido is considered to be developed from Jujitsu and it teaches the technique of using the opponent’s strength against him. During the program, Rahul Gandhi will teach some basic self-defense techniques to the students and will also interact with them. During this, the experiences of the students, the challenges faced by them and the issues of the youth of North East can also be discussed. This program is not limited to just martial arts training, but is also an attempt to give a social message through it. The party believes that students coming from any part of the country should get a safe and respectful environment in other states.
Rahul Gandhi meets North East students
This initiative of Rahul Gandhi is not only being considered an attempt to promote self-defense and self-confidence among the students, but it is also being seen as a message of solidarity with the youth of the North East. Last month also on 27th February, Rahul Gandhi had met a delegation of 18 students from North East. In that meeting, students shared their experiences and concerns. Especially regarding those incidents in which they faced discrimination or violence. During that time, Rahul Gandhi had assured the students that he would continue to raise the issue of their safety and respect.
