In Uttar Pradesh, two major decisions have been taken at the level of government and police department. On one hand, 47 officers of the Provincial Police Service (PPS) have been given the gift of promotion in the police department. The names of Nishank Verma and Tanu Upadhyay are also there in this. On the other hand, the government has given a big relief to IAS officer Abhishek Prakash, who was suspended from the bureaucracy for a year and reinstated him in service.
The state government has made a big promotion in the police department. 47 PPS officers are being promoted from the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP/CO) to Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP).

Demand for property details
According to the official letter issued by the Director General of Police (DGP) Headquarters, the proposal for promotion of these 47 officers is to be sent to the government under the selection year 2025-26.
To finalize this promotion process, IG (Administration) has sought details of movable and immovable assets for the year 2025 from all the selected 47 officers through e-mail with immediate effect, so that the promotion proposal can be sent to the government on time.
IAS Abhishek Prakash’s suspension ended, reinstated
The second big news is from the administrative staff. The Uttar Pradesh government has issued an order to reinstate suspended IAS officer Abhishek Prakash in service after almost a year. An official order in this regard has been issued by IAS Vijay Kumar, Special Secretary, Appointment Section-5. According to the order, the suspension period of Abhishek Prakash has been considered to end on March 14, 2026. They will be officially reinstated in service from March 15, 2026.
Departmental action will continue
The government has ordered reinstatement, but has also made it clear that despite his return to service, the ongoing departmental investigation and action against IAS Abhishek Prakash will continue as before. Both these decisions taken in the administrative and police departments are being seen as important steps of the state government.
