When some people asked for permission to shower flowers on Eid namaz, MP Satish Gautam said, “Look, such a huge space has been given to them. They have encroached so much in the socialist times, what do they need?” The MP said, “Our Holi and Diwali are celebrated in every home. People gather here. No one gathers in our place, rather it is celebrated by roaming in the streets and hugging each other.”

On the question of Eid Namaz being held at the exhibition grounds, the MP said, “What is the need for it? What did he say about such a big Eidgah (while telling the public), he doesn’t even mention it to me. He shouts from there, at 4:00 in the morning, children’s exams are going on. The MP said, “You see how much atrocities are being committed, the whole government is making arrangements on them (Muslims). They are giving houses to them, ration to them, cylinders to them, everything else, what else will they take? They are getting all this, they are taking all the benefits.” The MP said, “If anyone is taking advantage of government systems, he is a Muslim, be it AIIMS, AMU, Muslims everywhere are taking benefits of all government schemes. After that, will they attack us?”
