Nowadays, there is often debate in the kitchen about whether gas stove or induction stove is better. Many people believe that cooking on gas is cheaper, while some people say that induction is more economical. Amidst this debate, a video is becoming increasingly viral on social media, in which a person himself experimented and tried to find out which of the two is cheaper. He did a small practical in which he boiled the same amount of water on both gas and induction.
First experiment done on induction stove
It is shown in the viral video that the person first heats two liters of water on the induction stove. He boiled the water to about 90 degrees Celsius. During this time he had also installed an electricity meter so that it could be known how much electricity was consumed. During the experiment, about 0.201 kilowatt hours i.e. about 0.201 units of electricity is seen being consumed in the meter. The same figure can also be clearly seen in the viral video on social media. The cost of this electricity was 1 rupee 61 paise.
Same test was done on gas stove also
After this the same person did exactly the same experiment on a gas stove. He used a small bottle cylinder which contained a total of 311 grams of gas. When the same quantity i.e. two liters of water was heated to about 90 degrees Celsius, the weight of the cylinder was measured again. It was revealed that about 22 grams of gas was consumed in this process. Accordingly, the cost of gas was noted to be around Re 1 70 paise, which was about 10 paise more than induction.
Comparison of cost of both surprised
The most interesting part came after the experiment when the cost of both was calculated. The person made the comparison on the basis of electricity price and gas price. After calculations, it came to light that heating water on induction was slightly cheaper than gas. Although this difference was not very much, rather it was very slight. This is the reason why this result forced people to think.

Different comments of people are also being seen on the video. Many users say that induction stove has more heating capacity, hence energy can be saved in it. Some people say that the taste and method of cooking on gas is different, hence many families still prefer gas stove. Many users also wrote that it depends on the brand of induction and how much power it has.
