RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav reached AIMIM’s Iftar party on Sunday (March 15) amid political turmoil regarding Rajya Sabha elections 2026 in Bihar. This Iftar party was organized at the residence of Bihar State President of AIMIM, Akhtarul Iman. Tejashwi’s arrival at AIMIM’s Iftar just a day before voting for the Rajya Sabha elections is being considered a big sign.

Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, while reacting to the Rajya Sabha elections, said, “Akhtarul Iman had invited us for Iftar on behalf of AIMIM party, we have reached here today for Iftar. We have sought support from AIMIM party and I am confident that in the Rajya Sabha elections which are going to be held tomorrow, all the secular parties together will defeat BJP.”

IP Gupta also reached the Iftar party

RJD has fielded Grand Alliance supported candidate AD Singh for a Rajya Sabha seat. The total number of MLAs with the Grand Alliance is 35. AIMIM has five MLAs. IIP’s only MLA IP Gupta also attended the Iftar party organized on Sunday. IP Gupta had contested the 2025 assembly elections with the Grand Alliance.

How can RJD candidate get victory?

A candidate in Rajya Sabha needs the support of 41 MLAs to win. The Grand Alliance has a total of 35 MLAs, including 25 RJD MLAs. To win one Rajya Sabha seat, the RJD candidate needs 6 more MLAs. If we get the support of five AIMIM MLAs and one BSP, we will win.

Akhtarul Iman and Tejashwi Yadav met
