A tragic road accident took place on March 15 on the Bangapani-Madkot road in Pithoragarh district. An Innova car going towards Munsiyari went out of control and fell into a deep gorge, due to which 3 youths died, while one youth was seriously injured. After this incident, a wave of mourning has spread in the area.
According to the information, on Sunday (15 March) some youth were going towards Munsiyari via Madkot in an Innova car. When the vehicle reached N band about a kilometer before Bangapani, suddenly the driver lost control of the vehicle. After this the car fell into a deep ditch below the road. As soon as information about the accident was received, local villagers and police team immediately reached the spot and relief and rescue operations were started.
These people lost their lives in the accident
The team that reached the spot saw that the car was badly damaged. In the accident, Laxman Singh Negi, native of Dhuratoli (Munsiyari) and Hall resident of GIC Pithoragarh, and Ankit Pandey (27), son of Basant Pandey, resident of Daula, Pithoragarh, died on the spot.
Ayush Pant and Devesh Pant, both residents of Pithoragarh, who were seriously injured in the accident, were immediately taken out of the ditch with the help of local people. First he was taken to the hospital through private vehicles, after which he was referred to the District Hospital Pithoragarh by 108 ambulance. However, on the way to Ascot, Ayush Pant also died. Devesh Pant’s condition is said to be critical in the accident and his treatment is going on.
Laxman Singh Negi was posted in the Army Medical Corps.
It is being told that among the deceased, Laxman Singh Negi was posted in the AMC (Army Medical Corps) of the Indian Army. There is deep mourning in the family and the area due to the news of his demise. After the incident, the police inspected the spot and started investigating the cause of the accident. Initially the vehicle being out of control is believed to be the cause of the accident.
