Stock Market Today: The first trading day of the week in the Indian stock market, Monday, March 16, had a negative beginning. Major benchmark indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 opened trading in the red. However, as soon as the market opened, sharp fluctuations were seen. Sensex-Nifty were sometimes seen trading on red and sometimes on green mark.
The 30-share BSE Sensex index opened with a decline of 148.13 points or 0.20 percent. Sensex started the day at the level of 74,415.79. At the same time, a decline is also being seen in NSE Nifty 50. Nifty 50 slipped 35.00 points or 0.15 percent and opened at the level of 23,116.10.
By around 9:20 am, the Sensex was trading at 74,622 points, up by 58 points. Whereas Nifty 50 had jumped 26 points and was trading at the level of 23,177.

There was a huge decline in the Indian stock market on the trading day of Friday, March 13. Major benchmark indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 ended the day trading in the red. Sensex fell by 1470.50 points or 1.93 percent to 74,563.92 points, while NSE Nifty 50 slipped by 488.05 points or 2.06 percent and closed at the level of 23,151.10.
