Big news has come for the youth preparing for government jobs in Railways. Railway Recruitment Board has issued short notification for recruitment to the post of Assistant Loco Pilot. Through this recruitment, thousands of posts will be filled in different railway zones across the country. After the release of the notification, the curiosity about the application process has increased among the candidates.
In this information issued by the Railway Ministry, it has been told that at present this is an indicative notice, so that the candidates can complete their preparation in advance. A detailed notification will soon be released on the official website of RRB in which complete information about eligibility, selection process and other important details will be given.

When will the applications start?
The online application process for Assistant Loco Pilot recruitment will start from 15 May 2026. Interested candidates will be able to apply till 14 June 2026 at 12:00 pm. Applications will be accepted only through online mode and for this the candidates will have to fill the form by visiting the official website rrbapply.gov.in.
How many posts will be recruited?
Under this recruitment drive, a total of 11,127 posts will be appointed. These posts will be filled in different railway zones across the country. It has also been told by the Railways that the posts will be distributed according to different zones. Whose information will be given in the notification. For this recruitment process, the minimum age of the candidates has been fixed at 18 years and maximum age is 30 years. Age will be calculated on the basis of prescribed date. Whereas reserved category candidates will be given relaxation as per government rules. Apart from this, the selected candidates will be given a starting salary of Rs 19,900 under Pay Level-2, along with other allowances will also be given.
What is the eligibility criteria of recruitment process?
To apply for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot, a candidate must have passed 10th from any recognized board. Along with this, one should have ITI certificate in the related trade. Apart from this, candidates who have diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics or Automobile Engineering can also apply. In this recruitment, the candidates will be selected through several stages. First of all there will be a computer based test. After this CBT-2 will be conducted. After this, computer based aptitude test will be taken, the candidates passing these stages will be called for document verification and medical test.
