Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Tuesday made a scathing attack on former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Actually, Gehlot had raised questions on the Chief Minister’s visits to Delhi, after which a new political conflict has started in the state. Countering the statement of the former CM, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that whenever I go to Delhi, I return with some concrete results.
In fact, in a program in a school in Mansarovar, the CM took a dig at Ashok Gehlot’s tenure without taking his name. Without directly referring to the political crisis of 2020, he said that you used to spend your time relaxing in hotels. Whenever you went out, you seemed unfit to work.
Questions raised on the working style of former CM
Raising questions on the working style of the former Chief Minister, the CM said that as far as we are concerned, we are committed to work continuously. We remain proactive and focused on serving people without any interruption.
This allegation was made against the opposition
Addressing the ‘Rajasthan Yuva Shakti Diwas’ program organized as part of Rajasthan Day celebrations, the Chief Minister said that his government and public representatives are working round the clock for the welfare of the citizens. He accused the opposition of avoiding accountability.
CM Bhajan Lal further said, “They are not ready to compare the work done during our two-year tenure with their five-year tenure. To avoid such discussions, they walked out of the Assembly. The Chief Minister said that he had presented a detailed report of his government’s achievements in the Assembly and challenged the opposition to do the same, but he did not get any response.”
‘Will do whatever is necessary for the public’
Responding to criticism regarding his Delhi visits, he said, “Questions are raised whether I go to Delhi or not. Should I work as per someone else’s wishes? We will do whatever is necessary for the people of Rajasthan. He said the opposition’s criticism will not affect the functioning of his government.”
Targeting the previous Congress government, CM Sharma alleged irregularities in ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’ and said, “Action has been taken against many people due to corruption cases. He said that strict action will be taken against whoever is found guilty.”
‘I return from Delhi with concrete results’
Referring to his recent visit to Delhi, he said, “Whenever I go to Delhi, I return with some concrete results. My recent meetings have yielded concrete results.” During this, he also claimed improvement in the financial indicators of the state and said that the fiscal deficit has been reduced, while the per capita income has increased from Rs 1.67 lakh to more than Rs 2 lakh.
