A helicopter met with an accident during landing in Khotang district of Nepal. This helicopter was bringing a dead body from Kathmandu. According to the local administration, the helicopter was trying to land in a field when it lost its balance and crashed. It is a matter of relief that there is no news of death or serious injury to any person in this accident.
According to ANI report, District Officer Rekha Kandel said that the team reached the spot immediately after the accident and the situation was brought under control. Everyone is safe and there has been no major loss of life or property. It is being told that such flights are common in the hilly areas of Nepal, but there is more danger due to lack of proper airstrip and sudden change in weather. Helicopters often land in small fields or open areas, which increases the risk.
The reasons for the accident are being investigated
At present the reasons for the accident are being investigated. Initially it is believed that bad weather, technical problem or mistake during landing could be the reason.

Accident in Solukhumbu district of Nepal
Last year, on 29 October 2025, a helicopter met with an accident near Mount Everest Base Camp near Lobuche in Solukhumbu district of Nepal. This helicopter was going on a rescue mission to save foreign tourists. The helicopter slipped during landing and an accident occurred. It is a matter of relief that the pilot was completely safe in this accident.
