There was panic on Wednesday after a bomb threat was received at the passport office located at BKC in Mumbai, Maharashtra. This threat was given through email, in which it was claimed that 19 bombs filled with cyanide gas have been kept in the passport office and the washroom of the office, which will explode at 1:30 pm today. As soon as the information was received, the police force and bomb disposal squad reached the spot.
The team evacuated the premises and conducted a search operation, but no such thing was found, after which the officials heaved a sigh of relief. The details of the mail through which this threat was sent and the entire matter are being investigated.

8 units reached the spot
Information was immediately given to agencies and police. After which the security agencies immediately came into action. As soon as the information was received, senior officers of BKC Police Station, ATS team and officers of Unit-8 reached the spot and took possession of the entire premises and started investigation.
The entire complex was evacuated
As a precaution, B.D.D.S. (Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad) and Dog Squad team conducted a thorough search of the lobby, main entrance, access roads, trees and plants and the entire surrounding area of the Passport Office located at Videsh Bhawan. No suspicious or objectionable object was found during the investigation, after which the officials heaved a sigh of relief. However, taking the matter seriously, the police remains alert.
Engaged in cyber crime investigation
The police have started the process of gathering information regarding the suspicious email ID through the Cyber Police Station and further action is underway. Apart from this, the security personnel of the passport office have also been instructed to be alert and follow the security standards.
