The government, which was going to buy a VIP boat for inspection of Yamuna in Delhi, has withdrawn its decision. ABP News was the first to show the news in this regard. Now sources claim that the Irrigation and Flood Control Department of the government has withdrawn the tender for purchasing VIP AC boat.
It is being told that this decision was taken after the objection of Minister Pravesh Sahib Singh Verma. Actually this boat was to be purchased for inspection during floods and monitoring of cleanliness of Yamuna. The proposed boat had the capacity to store about 400 liters of water along with provision of AC cabin, pantry, water storage and comfortable chairs. An open space was also to be created near the deck at the rear of the boat, where meetings and inspections could be held.
Aam Aadmi Party had also raised questions regarding this tender and had alleged that by approving the same facility for which this proposal was earlier banned to end the VIP culture, the Rekha government itself is promoting VIP culture.
Congress and Aam Aadmi Party had targeted
Let us tell you that Congress leader Abhishek Dutt had given a sharp reaction to the Delhi government’s decision to issue a tender to buy two VIP boats for monitoring Yamuna. He had said that just as Arvind Kejriwal had built Sheesh Mahal, now BJP is bringing a new version of “Sheesh Mahal Boat” in Delhi. Abhishek Dutt said that the government should be ashamed of this decision, because their priority should have been cleaning Yamuna and not buying boats with such VIP facilities.
Aam Aadmi Party had also targeted the government regarding the tender to purchase VIP AC boats from the Irrigation and Flood Control Department of Delhi Government. Former Water Minister and AAP state convenor Saurabh Bhardwaj had alleged that on one hand BJP talks about ending VIP culture, but the Rekha government itself is promoting the same VIP culture. He had said that when he was the Water Minister, the three officers of the same department used to work with him standing for hours in the sun and rain, hence the need to buy a boat with VIP facilities is beyond comprehension.
Saurabh Bhardwaj had alleged that this boat was being ordered for Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma and the proposal to buy two boats was so that one could be used for the minister and the other for the Chief Minister. He sarcastically said that the Chief Minister has got used to living in AC and that is why there is talk of buying a boat with such facilities.
