Bihar CM Nitish Kumar filed nomination for the post of Janata Dal United (JDU) President. JDU working president Sanjay Jha submitted two sets of nomination papers on behalf of Nitish Kumar. March 22 is the last date for filing nominations. There will be scrutiny on 23rd. If more than 1 nomination paper is received then elections will be held otherwise Nitish Kumar will again be the boss of the party. The tenure of the party president will be till 2028.
Formality of election of national president left
Organization elections have already been conducted in JDU up to the state level. Now only the formal process of election of the National President is left, which is being completed within the stipulated time. March 24 is the last date for withdrawal of nominations. After this the picture will become completely clear. However, since no other contender has come forward till now, it is almost certain that Nitish Kumar will be elected president unopposed.

JDU is not in favor of leadership change at present
