Like every year, this time too lakhs of parents are looking for a good school for the better future of their children and meanwhile, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has started the admission process for the 2026-27 session. Online registration has started from March 20 and now parents can apply for their children. Kendriya Vidyalayas are counted among the most trusted government schools in the country, where discipline and a good environment are provided along with studies, which is why a large number of applications come here every year for admission.
This time too, admission in Class 1 and Kindergarten will be completely online. Parents will have to fill the form by visiting the official website and the last date of application has been fixed as April 2, 2026. Officials have advised to complete the application on time to avoid last minute problems.
What is the system?
No written examination or interview is taken for admission in Class 1, rather children are selected through a lottery system. That is, which child’s name will come depends on both the prescribed process and luck. Children whose names appear in the list after the lottery have to submit the necessary documents to their respective Kendriya Vidyalaya and after paying the fees, their admission is confirmed.
What should be the age?
The age of the child has also been fixed for admission. By March 31, 2026, the child’s age should be at least 6 years and maximum 8 years, while children born on April 1 will also be included in it. Some relaxation in age is also given to children with special needs.

These are important dates
Talking about important dates, registration will start from March 20 and will continue till April 2. The first selection list will be released on April 8 or 9, while the second and third lists may be released on April 16 and 21 respectively, if seats remain vacant.
Reservation system?
Reservation system is also implemented in Kendriya Vidyalayas so that children of every category get a chance. 25 percent seats have been earmarked under RTE, 15 percent for SC, 7.5 percent for ST, 27 percent for OBC and 3 percent for children with special needs.
How to fill the form
Parents will have to go to the website and register in the “Admission 2026” section, then fill the information about the child and themselves, upload the necessary documents and finally submit the form and keep a copy of it.
