‘If Hormuz Strait is not opened within 48 hours…’, Trump threatens to destroy Iran

US President Donald Trump on Sunday (22 March) warned Iran that if they do not open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours, America will attack many of their power plants and completely destroy them and the attack will start from the largest power plant.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump appealed to Iran to open the world’s most important waterway, the Strait of Hormuz, which has been completely blocked by the Iranian military since the US-Israeli attack on Iran and its counter-attacks.

Will destroy power plants- Trump
Trump said in his post that if Iran does not completely open the Strait of Hormuz without any threat within exactly 48 hours from now, then America will attack many of their power plants and completely destroy them, starting with the largest power plant. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Huge jump in oil prices
Let us tell you that due to Iran blocking the movement of ships in the Strait of Hormuz, there has been a huge rise in oil prices, in such a situation these comments of Trump have come to the fore. On Friday, the US President indicated that America could withdraw from the current conflict even without stabilizing the Strait of Hormuz. The Strait of Hormuz is the waterway through which approximately one-fifth of the world’s oil supply passes.

Trump had said that the Strait of Hormuz should be protected and monitored by other countries that use it. The United States does not use it. Meanwhile, the Trump administration recently announced that it is temporarily lifting sanctions on Iranian oil loaded on ships as of Friday.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant posted on Twitter that this exemption will bring about 140 million barrels of oil into global markets and will help ease the pressure on energy supplies.
