Composite Gas Cylinder: Due to disruption in LPG supply due to tensions in Gulf countries, many households and industries are looking for safer and effective alternatives. On the other hand, the modern upgrade of traditional gas cylinder is also attracting people’s attention. Its name is composite cylinder. Let us know how it is different from traditional cylinders.
What are composite cylinders?
Composite cylinders are the next generation gas cylinders. They are made using several layers of materials like fiber glass and high density plastic. Instead of a single metal body, they are made in layers. Because of this they get both strength and flexibility. Due to this design, they are light, do not rust and are much better than traditional steel cylinders.
How different from traditional cylinder?
The biggest difference is in their weight. Composite cylinders are about 50% lighter than normal steel cylinders. Because of this, it is very easy to lift, install and take them from one place to another. Another big advantage is security. Unlike metal cylinders, composite cylinders are designed in such a way that they do not burst. Even in case of extreme heat or fire, they do not explode but release gas slowly.
Problem situation with transparent body
One of the least appreciated features of composite cylinders is their semi-transparent body. Users can easily see how much gas is left inside the cylinder. This eliminates the common problem of suddenly running out of gas while cooking.
Traditional iron cylinders often rust over time. Because of this, stains appear on the floors and they require maintenance. But composite cylinder does not rust at all. Composite cylinders have been designed keeping the modern times in mind. Unlike traditional heavy cylinders, their design is also quite attractive which fits easily in modern homes. This cylinder is not limited to just the kitchens of homes. Due to their light weight they are also perfect for outdoor activities like camping, picnics and barbeques.
