Larijani died in an air strike
Let us tell you that Ali Larijani, one of the most influential people of Iran and former Supreme National Security Council chief, was killed in an Israeli air strike. Tehran confirmed this on Tuesday (March 17). Earlier, Israel had talked about targeting him. Along with Larijani, his son and bodyguard also died.
Larijani, 67, was widely believed to be taking over the reins of the country following the assassination of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He was considered a leader who could accommodate all parties, from liberals and reformists to fundamentalists and the Iranian superpower (IRGC). He was also known for leading the country’s nuclear talks with the West.
Will the war end?
US President Donald Trump had hinted at an end to the war citing talks with Iran. Many countries have intensified mediation efforts to end the war. However, the war is still going on in Western Asia. On Tuesday (24 March), Iran bombed Israel and Gulf countries with missiles and drones. Let us tell you that the war between America, Israel and Iran started on 28 February. Today, March 24, is the 25th day of the war.
