Amidst the worldwide oil and gas crisis, good news has come from Iran. It has announced to ease the movement of ships on the sea route Strait of Hormuz. 20 Indian ships are still stuck in West Asia due to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, Iran has sent a message to the United Nations Security Council saying that it will ease the movement of ships on this route. However, Iran has also imposed some conditions regarding this. At the same time, the Indian government has also given a big update on 20 gas and oil vessels stranded in the Middle East.
According to Reuters news, in the message Iran has shared a plan to open the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has also imposed some conditions along with the opening of Hormuz, under which ships which are considered non-hostile can be allowed to pass through here and that too after coordinating with Iranian authorities and following prescribed safety protocols, while the ban on ships belonging to America and Israel will remain in force.
In the message issued by the Iranian Foreign Ministry regarding the ships stranded in Hormuz, it has been made clear that ships filled with oil and gas from America, Israel as well as those countries, which are supporting military action against Iran in any way, will not be allowed to cross the Strait of Hormuz.
A message was sent by Iran to the United Nations Security Council and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres on Sunday (March 22, 2026), which was sent to the London-based 176-member International Maritime Organization on Tuesday. The job of this agency is to ensure the safety and security of international shipping. Iran said it has taken necessary and appropriate measures to prevent ships from countries it considers aggressors from using Hormuz.
On Tuesday, the Government of India gave a big update on the supply of oil and gas through Hormuz. Rajesh Sinha, Special Secretary, Ministry of Shipping, Waterways and Ports, said that there are 20 Indian ships on the west side of the Strait of Hormuz, which are ready to cross the checkpoint.
