On the 26th day of the US-Israel-Iran war, efforts to negotiate have become more difficult. Iran has presented its main demands to America through mediators. These demands are so strict that many experts say that reaching a consensus on them still seems a long way off.
What did Iran demand from America?
Iran has 4 main demands:
- No military attacks in future: Iran said that a written guarantee should be given from both America and Israel that there will never be any further military action against Iran.
- Full compensation for war losses: Full compensation (war reparations) for the loss of life and property caused in the war has been sought from America and its allies.
- Complete control over the Strait of Hormuz: Iran wants to have formal and complete control over the Strait of Hormuz. Also, strict conditions can be imposed on American and Israeli ships.
- No restrictions on ballistic missile programme: Iran clearly said that there will be no ban or restriction on its ballistic missile and drone programs.
Iran has more important demands. According to reports, Iran has also said:
- All American military bases in the Gulf area should be closed.
- Israel should immediately stop attacks on Hezbollah.
- All economic sanctions imposed on Iran should be completely removed.
Iran’s stance has now become stricter than before. Tehran told the mediators that Trump had cheated twice before, so no risk would be taken for the third time. America’s sending more troops is also increasing Iran’s doubts.
Iran rejected Trump’s claim
US President Donald Trump had said yesterday that Iran will not make nuclear weapons and talks are going well, but Iran has clearly denied that any direct talks are taking place. Tehran is saying that messages are coming only through intermediaries (like Oman, Qatar, Pakistan).
Iran prefers JD Vance as a negotiator, while earlier meetings with Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have failed.
How is the current situation amidst the discussion of peace talks?
Meanwhile the attacks continue. Hezbollah fired more than 30 rockets at Haifa-Nahariya. Iran carried out drone attacks on Israeli aerospace factories. Israel continued attacks on Iranian targets including Shiraz Airport. A fire broke out in the fuel tank of Kuwait Airport.
Due to tension in Hormuz, oil prices remain around $ 94-97 per barrel. Iran has said that it will allow non-enemy ships to pass, but not the ships of enemy countries.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Trump on phone and appealed to keep the Strait of Hormuz open and safe and for early peace in the area. India is cautious about its oil supply and the safety of its citizens. The situation is still very sensitive. After these strict demands of Iran, the path of talks has become more complicated.
