There is big news for students preparing for higher education. Jamia Millia Islamia, one of the top universities of the country, has released its new prospectus for the session 2026-27. Apart from this, the date to apply for admission has also been extended. In this document of about 150 pages, every necessary information related to admission is given, which course, on which qualification, how much fee, when the exam and till when to apply.
This time Jamia has increased the number of entrance examination centres. Earlier the examination was held in 8 cities, now it has been increased to 11. Jaipur, Dehradun and Kishanganj have been added to the new cities. Earlier cities like Delhi, Lucknow, Guwahati, Patna, Kolkata, Srinagar, Calicut and Bhopal were included. This change will provide great relief to students from far-flung areas. Now they will not have to travel long distances to appear for exams.
Separate fees for foreign students
Every year a large number of foreign students also come to study in Jamia. This time the university has changed the fees for them. Now the fees have been fixed according to different regions, like SAARC countries, West Asia, Africa and Latin America. This will make fees more balanced for students from different countries.
Application date extended
Earlier the last date of application was fixed as 25th March. Now it has been extended to 2 April 2026. This means that students who have not applied yet have another chance. The university has also said that in the courses where admission is done on the basis of JEE Main, NATA, NEET, NCET and CUET, applications will remain open for 10 days after the results of these examinations are declared. Apart from this, applications for vacant seats in FYUP course will be accepted till 10 April 2026.

In this 150-page prospectus, the eligibility of each course, method of examination, fees, necessary documents and complete timetable are given. Students have been advised to read it carefully before applying, so that no mistake is made later.
