UPTET 2026: If you are preparing to become a government teacher in Uttar Pradesh, then this news is very important for you. Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission has released new guidelines for UP TET 2026. After a long wait, applications for this examination have started from today but this time some strict rules have been implemented which are important for every candidate to know.
what is the new rule
This time the rule which is being discussed the most is related to marriage. The Commission has made it clear that male candidates who have more than one wife alive will not be able to apply for this examination. Similarly, if a woman marries a man who already has a wife, then she will also not be considered eligible for this examination. Candidates practicing polygamy have been excluded from this examination. This rule will apply equally to both men and women.
Can there be any relaxation in this rule?
However, a small relaxation has also been given in this strict rule. If permission is given by the Governor in a particular case, then such a candidate can be allowed to apply. But generally there will be no relaxation in this rule.

Passing the exam does not guarantee a job.
The Commission has clarified that UPTET is only an eligibility test. Getting permission to appear in the examination or issuance of admit card does not confirm the final selection. Similarly, even after passing the examination, there is no direct appointment to the post of government teacher. The final selection will be done on the basis of related recruitment process, document verification and other parameters.
Strict action against giving wrong information
If any candidate gives wrong or false information while filling the form, then strict action will be taken against him. In such a situation, the result of the candidate can also be cancelled, TET certificate can be canceled and if necessary, legal action can also be taken.
OMR sheet will not be re-checked
After the examination, many students demand re-checking of the copy, but this time the Commission has made it clear that the OMR sheet will not be re-checked. The copy is checked with modern machines, hence there is very less possibility of error in it and no facility of rechecking will be given.
When will the exam be held?
The examination will be conducted on 2, 3 and 4 July 2026. Therefore, eligible candidates should fill their form on time and do not wait for the last date.
