SSC age limit: A big relief news has come to the fore for the candidates who have been preparing for government jobs for many years. Many recruitment processes had come to a halt due to the Corona pandemic, administrative delays and other reasons, leaving the hopes of thousands of candidates unfulfilled as they had reached the age limit. Now Union Home Minister Amit Shah has proposed to give age relaxation of five years for such candidates. This step is huge for those who worked hard for a long time but lost the opportunity due to system delays.
Why can the age limit increase?
Government recruitment examinations, such as SSC examinations, are conducted under strict age limit rules. If a candidate exceeds the prescribed age limit for any post, he loses the right to apply. There were many candidates who could not apply on time due to interruptions or postponement of the examination. Some had completed their preparation, but due to delay in the recruitment process, they crossed the age limit. The proposed age relaxation of five years will make these candidates eligible again and give them an opportunity to get a job. Candidates will now be able to apply again for those posts for which they were earlier ineligible.

Along with age relaxation, new examination opportunities may also be available. This means that candidates can now apply under the new exam schedule. With this, candidates who have been stuck for a long time will get a chance to prepare again. This will be especially helpful for those candidates whose preparation was going on for years but the opportunity was lost due to continuous hurdles and controversies in the recruitment process.
Waiting for official guidelines
This proposal has increased the enthusiasm among the candidates, but till now its complete information has not come in the form of government notification. Which posts will come under the scope of this exemption? What will be the exact conditions and procedure for applying? When will the age relaxation be implemented and for how long will it last? Answers to all these questions are still awaited.
