Joe Kent, former director of the US National Anti-Terrorism Center in Donald Trump’s government, has blamed Israel for the Iran war. Kent said that after protests against economic mismanagement and rising inflation began in Iran in January, Israel convinced Trump to bomb and eliminate some of the protesters’ opponents. Israel hoped that after the killing of the protesters they would take over power themselves.

Kent said of the Israeli proposal, “It sounds like the situation in Iraq, that we will be welcomed as liberators. We will bomb the IRGC who are killing protesters and then the protesters will take over.” He further said that Trump was told this was an easy operation.
