Abdul Rahim Qazi Joins Congress Party: West Bengal Assembly member Abdul Rahim Qazi has joined Congress on Monday i.e. 30 March. Recently he resigned from Trinamool Congress (TMC). Kazi, the current MLA from Baduria assembly seat of North 24 Parganas district, had resigned from all the posts of the party on Sunday i.e. March 29 after being denied ticket from TMC. Now he will contest elections from Qazi Baduria on Congress ticket. Qazi accepted membership of Congress in the presence of Congress West Bengal in-charge Ghulam Ahmed Mir, State Congress Committee President Subhankar Sarkar and some other leaders.

Ghulam Ahmed Mir welcomed Qazi into the party

My father was a member of Congress for 50 years – Qazi

After taking membership of Congress, Abdul Rahim Qazi said that his father was active in the politics of West Bengal for 50 years. He was a member of Congress for 50 years. I am very happy to be returning home after joining Congress.

There will be no impact on TMC – former minister

TMC made major changes in six assembly seats of Basirhat organizational district. TMC did not give tickets to the sitting MLAs of Sandeshkhali, Basirhat North, Basirhat South, Haroa, Hingalganj and Baduria. Burhanul Muqaddim Liton was selected as the candidate from Baduria. Responding to this, former minister Jyotipriya Mallik said that the party’s decision is final in the matter of selection of candidates. If someone leaves the party due to personal resentment, even if he is an MLA, it will not affect TMC.
