Strong earthquake tremors have been felt in Indonesia. Its intensity has been measured at 7.4 on the Richter scale. A tsunami warning was also issued after this earthquake. There is an atmosphere of panic among the people due to earthquake tremors. According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake was felt at around 6:48 am (local time). Its center is said to be in the Molucca Sea area. In the initial report, its intensity was said to be 7.8, which was later reduced to 7.4.
The strong tremors of the earthquake created chaos in the area and people came out of their homes out of fear. The administration has immediately increased vigilance and people living in coastal areas have been advised to be careful. After the tsunami warning was issued, relief and rescue agencies are on alert. At present, complete information about damage and casualties has not been revealed. Officials have appealed to people to stay away from the beach and follow safety instructions. However, according to the new update, the government has removed the tsunami warning after the earthquake.

Reason for earthquake in Indonesia
Earthquake is not a new thing in Indonesia, rather it is a common natural phenomenon there. Indonesia falls in the area called Ring of Fire. This is considered to be the world’s most active earthquake and volcanic area. There is constant movement under the ground in this area, due to which earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur more frequently. Apart from this, many big tectonic plates exist beneath Indonesia, such as Indo-Australian Plate, Eurasian Plate and Pacific Plate. These plates always move slowly and sometimes collide with each other. When this collision occurs, energy is generated inside the ground and that causes an earthquake.
