Middle East Tensions: Due to Iran War, tension in the Middle East has reached its peak. Meanwhile, more than 60 countries from around the world participated in an important meeting chaired by Britain on Thursday. Vikram Mistry represented India in this meeting and participated through virtual medium.
Big meeting on the Strait of Hormuz
In the meeting, the Foreign Secretary stressed that it is extremely important to ensure free and safe movement on international waterways, as the current situation is seriously affecting the global energy supply. He said that India is also facing the impact of this crisis and the only way out of it is a peaceful solution through diplomacy, in which communication between all parties is necessary.
He also said that India has suffered losses and Indian sailors have lost their lives in attacks on commercial ships in the Gulf region, which further increases the seriousness of this crisis. Mistry said that India is the only country which has lost its sailors.
Earlier, Randhir Jaiswal had confirmed India’s participation in this important meeting. He told that India has been invited by Britain to participate in it and Vikram Mistry will participate in it on behalf of India.
Six ships have arrived so far
Jaiswal also said that India is in constant touch with the concerned countries, including Iran, to ensure safe passage of Indian ships and they can reach the country carrying LNG, PNG and other essential energy products. He informed that talks in this direction have been going on for the last several days and till now six Indian ships have successfully passed through the Strait of Hormuz, which is considered a relief news amidst the current tension.
