The oil crisis in Pakistan has deepened amid the Iran war. There the prices of diesel and petrol have been increased a lot so that people use their vehicles less. Why did Shahbaz government make this announcement?
Ever since Iran has imposed blockade on the Strait of Hormuz, oil tankers of most countries are stuck in the Gulf of Iran. Big countries like China and India have created their own stock, but Pakistan does not have any oil stock at all and this is the reason why the shortage of oil there has increased a lot. That is why there has been a huge increase in oil prices there. Shahbaz wants that now more and more people should travel by public transport so that minimum petrol and diesel is consumed.
