A big and relief news has come out for the youth who are dreaming of becoming government teachers. For the candidates who have been waiting for recruitment for a long time, Gujarat Government has announced a large number of recruitment for the posts of Primary Teacher. Under this recruitment drive, about 11,000 posts will be filled, which will not only provide employment opportunities to unemployed youth, but will also remove the shortage of teachers in government schools of the state.
This recruitment is being done by the Gujarat Education Department through District and City Primary Education Committees. According to the information, out of total 11,000 posts, about 5,000 posts were lying vacant from the year 2025, while 6,000 new posts have been approved for the year 2026. This recruitment will be mainly for Gujarati medium government schools, where teachers will be appointed to teach classes 1 to 5.
Who can apply?
Only those candidates who have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET-1) will be eligible to apply in this recruitment process. Apart from this, another important thing is that students who are currently studying in the final year of Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd) can also apply. This decision will benefit thousands of students who want to apply for jobs even before completing their studies and want to take advantage of the opportunity in time.

Opportunity for teachers who want transfer
Along with this recruitment, an important facility has also been given to the currently working teachers. Teachers who wish to transfer can apply online between April 21 and April 23. This facility will be available to teachers working under District and City Primary Education Committees, so that they will get the opportunity to work at the place of their choice.
Application Process and Important Dates
To make the recruitment process completely transparent and simple, the application process has been kept online. Interested candidates will be able to apply from April 15, while the last date for application has been fixed as April 24. After applying online, candidates will have to submit their required documents at the designated centres. After this the selection process will be done completely on the basis of merit. Candidates will be allotted districts according to their marks.
