Indian Test cricket is currently in the transition phase, because senior players like Rohit, Kohli, Ashwin etc. have said goodbye to this format. BCCI is also preparing to create a systematic system for the test. The board wants to get the basics right so that good results come. Vaibhav Suryavanshi is also included in this plan, who recently turned 15.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who came into limelight with his stormy innings in IPL, has also impressed in Under-19 and Domestic. There is a demand to include him in Team India. Apart from Vaibhav, there are also players like Ayush Mhatre, Sameer Rizvi etc., for whom BCCI has made a special plan to prepare. It is being led by BCCI’s Center of Excellence.
Special tournament for young players
According to PTI news, BCCI is going to organize a 4-day tournament in June-July, in which 64 players will play. Players under 25 years of age will play in it and the matches of the tournament will be held on different pitches. Its purpose is to test the technique, ability and patience of the players.
BCCI wants to prepare a strong pool of Test team for the next 10 years through this tournament. In this, 25 players will be selected from Ranji and domestic circuit, 25 will be selected from junior cricket (CK Naidu Trophy, Cooch Behar Trophy). The remaining players will be selected from IPL.
The head coach and chief selector of the Indian cricket team will play an important role in this, which shows that this is a special plan for the future of Team India. According to the news, the teams will also be selected on the basis of performance in this tournament. The 19th edition of IPL is going on, after the conclusion of which the Indian Under-19 and Emerging team will go to Sri Lanka to play four-day matches.
Under the coaching of Gautam Gambhir, the Indian team performed brilliantly in ODI and T20, but the team could not do that well in red ball cricket. Team India, which had not lost at home for 12 years, lost the Test series to New Zealand and then South Africa.
