Ayush Mhatre IPL Salary: Chennai Super Kings have made a comeback in IPL 2026 with a spectacular win. Thanks to Sanju Samson’s brilliant century and Ayush Mhatre’s half century, CSK achieved this strong victory against Delhi Capitals. Ayush Mhatre’s strong innings caught everyone’s attention. During the match, when Ayush was on 59 runs, he got the message to retire out and he had to come off the field. A question is arising in the minds of people that how much does Ayush Mhatre earn in every IPL match and how much more or less is his earning than Vaibhav Suryavanshi.

BCCI has implemented a new rule from IPL 2025. According to this rule, every player gets a fixed match fee. Whether he is a part of the playing 11 or an impact player, it does not matter. Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Suryavanshi get ₹ 7.5 lakh for every match. This means that there is no difference in their earnings per match. Both players are paid equally for every match.
Where is the difference?
Although the match fees are the same but the real difference is visible in their annual IPL contracts. Rajasthan Royals have signed Vaibhav Suryavanshi for ₹1.10 crore and Chennai Super Kings have bought Ayush Mhatre at a base price of ₹30 lakh. This means that Vaibhav Suryavanshi earns 3 times more than Ayush Mhatre’s seasonal salary.
IPL salary structure
IPL’s payment system has two main parts. The first is the fixed amount of the contract. Players get this regardless of how many matches they have played. Second is match fee. It has recently been started to reward the active participation of players. This system ensures fairness.
The interesting thing is that despite the difference in contracts, both the players have performed brilliantly. Vaibhav Suryavanshi has impressed everyone with his strong batting and strike rate of more than 200. With this, Ayush Mhatre has emerged as a reliable player for CSK. BCCI had started match fees to balance the earnings of the players. Earlier, players whose contract amount was less, got very less money despite playing continuously. Now the rule of ₹7.5 lakh per match ensures that those who perform consistently get the right amount.
