Tamil Nadu Assembly Election 2026: Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay on Thursday released his party’s manifesto for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, in which special emphasis has been laid on the welfare of women.
These promises are included in Vijay’s manifesto
The manifesto promises monthly assistance of Rs 2,500 for women below 60 years of age and eight grams of gold for the marriage of women from poor sections.
Apart from gold, Vijay also promised to give a high quality silk saree for the marriage of these women. He assured interest-free loans up to Rs 5 lakh for self-help groups run by women.

Education has also been given importance in the manifesto. To curb school dropouts, Rs 15,000 has been promised annually to mothers or guardians of children studying in government and state-aided schools.
He also assured corruption-free good governance if he comes to power.
Removal of unemployment, promise of higher education
Vijay promised 100 special residential schools in the name of iconic leader Kamaraj and higher education loans of up to Rs 20 lakh. He also assured the establishment of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Ministry, AI University and AI City.
Special emphasis has also been given on agricultural welfare in the manifesto. The TVK chief has assured that agricultural cooperative crop loans of farmers with less than five acres of land will be completely waived off, while farmers with more than five acres of land will get 50 percent loan waiver.
Additionally, the party promised a minimum support price (MSP) of Rs 3,500 per quintal for paddy and Rs 4,500 per tonne for sugarcane.
To tackle the problem of unemployment, Vijay promised to create five lakh new government jobs. The manifesto promises that unemployed graduates will be provided assistance of up to Rs 4,000 per month.
The party assured to consider the old pension scheme for government employees and regularize contractual employees including nurses.
In the field of health, he promised to make Tamil Nadu drug free. Vijay also committed to modernizing hospitals, free annual health checkup and launching a family health insurance scheme of Rs 25 lakh.
The manifesto also includes the promise of a monthly pension of Rs 3,000 for the elderly and disabled, 200 units of free electricity, lease regularization and 100 percent piped drinking water supply to all households.
Vijay also promised to implement a system to deliver services like ration directly to the people. He assured that ease of doing business will be of paramount importance for his government and promised to ensure that business licenses are issued within 21 days.
Voting for the 234-member Tamil Nadu Assembly will be held on April 23 and counting of votes will take place on May 4.
