In the 35th match of IPL 2026, Delhi Capitals has given a target of 265 runs to Punjab Kings. This is Punjab’s biggest total in IPL history, overall it is the fifth biggest total. KL Rahul played a historic inning of 152 runs in 67 balls, in which he hit 9 sixes and 16 fours. Nitish Rana also played a brilliant inning of 91 runs, although he could not complete his century.
In the match being played at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Akshar Patel won the toss and decided to bat first, which was proved right by the Delhi batsmen. Pathum Nissanka (11) could not do anything special, Arshdeep Singh dismissed him in the third over. But after this the bowlers of Punjab Kings kept craving for the wicket. There was a partnership of 220 runs for the second wicket between KL Rahul and Nitish Rane.
KL Rahul first Indian to score 150
The highest individual score in IPL history is 175, made by Chris Gayle in 2013. Brendon McCullum had scored 158 runs in the first match of IPL. KL Rahul has become the third player to score more than 150 runs in IPL. He is the first Indian to do so. Rahul scored 152 runs in 67 balls at a strike rate of 226, in this innings he hit 9 sixes and 16 fours.

Nitish Rana also scored 91 runs at a strike rate of more than 200 (206.82). In this innings played in 44 balls, he hit 4 sixes and 11 fours. Xavier Bartlett dismissed him in the 19th over.
Fifth highest total in IPL history
Sunrisers Hyderabad holds the record for the highest score in IPL, they had scored 287 runs against RCB in 2024. Today Delhi Capitals made the fifth highest total in IPL history. Earlier RCB was at fifth position in this list, they had scored 263 runs against PWI in 2013.

Xavier Bartlett gave away 69 runs
Arshdeep Singh gave 49 runs in 4 overs and took 1 wicket. Xavier Bartlett took only 1 wicket, but that came in the 19th over. He also proved to be very expensive, conceding 69 runs in 4 overs at an economy of 17.25. Marco Jansen gave 45 runs in 4 overs and Yuzvendra Chahal gave 42 runs in 4 overs. Vaishakh Vijay Kumar gave away 48 runs in 3 overs.
