Then Punjab went for the run chase and made the biggest successful run chase in the history of the tournament and won by scoring 265/4 runs in just 18.5 overs.

Hyderabad also did wonders

In the evening match, Rajasthan Royals, batting first, scored 228 runs for 6 wickets on the board in 20 overs. Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 103 runs in 37 balls while playing a century. Then Hyderabad came on the field for the chase and won by scoring 229/5 runs in just 18.3 overs.

986 runs scored, previous record broken

Including both the matches, 986 runs were scored on Friday, which broke the previous record. 529 runs were scored in Delhi and then 457 runs were scored in Jaipur. Earlier, the record of highest runs scored in a single day of IPL was recorded on April 27, 2024, when a total of 899 runs were scored. This miracle happened with the matches of Delhi and Mumbai and Lucknow and Rajasthan.

Record of most sixes hit also broken

Along with the most runs scored in a day, the record of most sixes hit was also broken. 59 sixes were hit on Saturday. The previous record was 53 sixes. Apart from sixes, 96 fours were also seen in both the matches. In this way Saturday became a memorable day for cricket fans.
