- AAP is accusing these MPs of betrayal from Punjab.
Political rhetoric continues regarding two-thirds of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MPs, including Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha, joining BJP. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and senior National Conference leader Omar Abdullah has now reacted to the political crisis facing the Aam Aadmi Party. He said that the cycle of Aaya Ram Gaya Ram never continued. MPs leaving a party is not a new thing, it has always been happening. Whatever party is in power, unfortunately these things happen every now and then.
Along with this, he said that all the MPs who have left AAP have not been elected by the public nor are they going to provide much benefit to BJP. On the questions asked by the media, Omar Abdullah said, “Okay, these people have left, AAP will suffer some loss due to this, but you see for yourself, there is not a single one of them who can win his seat on his own.”
‘If these people were so strong, they would have been MLAs’
The senior leader of the National Conference further said, “All of them have come by parachute through the Rajya Sabha. I do not think that even one of them is in a position to win the Panchayat elections on his own strength. Okay, there was fanfare, the news was made, they are gone. If these people were so strong, they would have been MLAs, members of the Lok Sabha. They have gone to the Rajya Sabha, you know as well as I do why the Aam Aadmi Party made them sit in the Rajya Sabha. I do not think that even one of them will support the BJP at the grassroots level. Will also get 10 votes.”
It should be noted that after leaving AAP, 3 AAP MPs including Raghav Chadha have joined BJP. AAP has termed the defection of these MPs as betrayal of Punjab. AAP workers in Jalandhar staged a strong protest against these MPs on Saturday (April 25) and expressed their protest by writing ‘traitor’.
