West Bengal Assembly Elections 2026: West Bengal Chief Minister and ruling Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee on Saturday (May 2, 2026) expressed confidence of TMC’s victory in the recently held assembly elections. He said that TMC will be victorious in Bengal elections. Before the vote counting to be held on Monday (May 4, 2026) after the end of the elections, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee addressed the party’s counting agents online through video conferencing on Saturday (May 2).
During this, he completely rejected the exit poll’s assessment regarding West Bengal and termed it an attempt to manipulate the stock market. He said, ‘We are winning the Bengal elections and by a margin of more than 200 seats. Exit polls are just an attempt to manipulate the stock market. They had done the same earlier in 2021, 2024 and they are doing the same even now.

During this, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee also accused the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) deployed in Bengal on behalf of the Election Commission. He said that the Central Armed Police Forces personnel inflicted extreme brutality on Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers. He assured that in the coming days, the Trinamool Congress Party will reward all those who have faced the brutality of the Central Armed Police Forces.
