IPL 2026: Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma got injured in April while playing against Chennai Super Kings, due to which he was not seen in some matches. So far 47 matches have been played in the Indian Premier League. The 47th match of IPL took place on Monday night, 4th May, between Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants. Rohit Sharma joined this match after recovering from his injury and he created a stir in the match as soon as he came.
Monday’s match between Mumbai Indians vs Lucknow Super Giants was a one-or-one match. Both LSG and MI teams were at the bottom of the points table. LSG was at 10th position in the points table while MI was at 9th position. The team that had lost in this match would have been out of the entire season. However, Mumbai won the match and LSG was out of the entire season.
Why didn’t Rohit play?
He was out of the team after Rohit Sharma’s injury. As soon as Rohit recovered, he again took command of the team. Veteran Rohit Sharma proved his ability with his explosive innings in yesterday’s match. He played in a stormy style and turned the tide towards MI’s victory.

Rohit played a brilliant inning of 84 runs. However, Rohit Sharma missed scoring his third IPL century. Despite this, he made a match-winning partnership of 143 runs with Ryan Rickelton. Rohit Sharma hit 6 fours and 7 sixes in his innings.

How did you get injured against Chennai?
In the month of April, when Mumbai faced Chennai Super Kings, Rohit Sharma got injured while batting against Chennai. He had a hamstring injury. Due to injury, he was not able to bat further in that match also. After that Rohit did not take part in any match. But when he came out to bat against Lucknow, it seemed as if nothing had happened to him.
