The Education Department has opened a new path for those students studying in government schools of Delhi who could not succeed in class 9th or 10th. They will be given the opportunity to continue their studies again through the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), so that they can move forward without leaving their studies midway.
Only government school students will get benefits
According to the instructions of the Education Department, this facility will be available only to those students who have studied in government schools of Delhi. This includes students who have failed at least twice in class 9th or 10th or are in compartment status. However, students who have failed for the first time in the 2025-26 session will not come under the ambit of this scheme and will have to continue their studies in their existing school.
Responsibility on schools, instructions to connect students
The department has directed all government schools to identify eligible students, contact them and motivate them to join the scheme. Besides, it will also be the responsibility of the schools to arrange the necessary documents and complete the application process on time, so that no eligible student is deprived of this opportunity.
Online process and arrangement of study centers
The entire admission process will be conducted online, which will be completed by school heads through NIOS system. Classes will be conducted at study centers set up in about 75 selected government schools of Delhi, so that students can get regular guidance.

Under this scheme, the examination fee has been fixed at Rs 300 per subject, while for practical subjects, Rs 150 per subject will have to be paid. The fee for Transfer of Credit (TOC) has been kept at Rs 230 per subject.
