Donald Trump has given a big statement amid increasing tension between America and Iran. Trump has clearly said that if Iran accepts the stipulated conditions then the war and blockade can end, but if this does not happen then more intense attacks will be carried out than before.
War and blockade can end with agreement
Trump said on his social media platform Truth Social that if Iran ‘accepts pre-arranged conditions’, then ‘Operation Epic Fury’ would be ended. Along with this, America’s blockade can also be removed and the Strait of Hormuz will be opened to all countries, even Iran.
If agreement is not reached the bombing will intensify
Trump warned that if Iran does not agree to a deal, the bombing will resume and it will be more widespread and more intense than before. He described it as an action on a ‘very large scale’.
IRGC also indicated, possibility of opening of Hormuz
Meanwhile, Iran’s IRGC Navy has also issued a statement indicating that if ‘the threat from aggressive forces ends’, then the Strait of Hormuz can be reopened. The IRGC thanked ship owners for their cooperation and said that ‘safe and sustainable movement’ would be made possible under the new rules.
‘Project Freedom’ stopped for now
This statement has come at a time when America has temporarily stopped ‘Project Freedom’ – an operation to ensure safe movement of ships through the Strait of Hormuz. Trump had announced this operation on Sunday and the US Central Command started implementing it from the next day. However, the project has led to tensions around the narrow sea route, which is a key route for transportation of one-fifth of global oil supplies.
