Also condemn. These incidents have happened at a time when the Model Code of Conduct is in force in the state.

Responding to the murder, Dasgupta said, “I worked very closely with him. It breaks my heart to know this because I met him only two days ago.” He further claimed that “fingerprints point to a political party” and alleged that people associated with the Trinamool Congress were behind the murder. TVK leader Vijay meets Governor, stakes claim to form government in Tamil Nadu
After the results of Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, C Joseph Vijay on Thursday formally staked claim to form the government in the state. His Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has emerged as the largest party in the 234-member assembly. Vijay reached Lok Bhawan to meet Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar amid unprecedented political excitement and intense speculation over the formation of the next government. During this, senior leaders of TVK were also present along with Vijay, which included ‘Bussi’ Anand, KA Sengottaiyan, Aadhav Arjun and Arun Raj.
According to sources, Vijay gave a formal letter to Governor Arlekar inviting him to form the government and assured him that the party will give its majority in the assembly within the stipulated time. This meeting is being considered as the first major constitutional step towards forming a new government in Tamil Nadu under the leadership of Vijay.
Let us tell you that TVK made a great election debut by winning 108 seats in the recently concluded assembly elections and became the largest party in the state. However, the party fell short of half the 118 seats required to form the government on its own. After the election results, Vijay interacted with the newly elected MLA and senior party leaders. Subsequently, TVK MLAs on Tuesday unanimously elected him as the leader of the legislature party, paving the way for him to stake claim to the Governor.
Meanwhile, tremendous political turmoil continues in Chennai, with many parties looking at their options in the post-election situation. Congress has already given conditional support to TVK, while Left parties and smaller regional organizations are expected to hold internal talks before taking a final decision on supporting the Vijay-led government.
The ruling DMK, which suffered a major setback in the elections, has also started internal talks after losing power after one term. Political experts believe that the coming days will be important in deciding the shape and stability of the next government in Tamil Nadu.
