The 19th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026) is going on, in which 50 matches have been played. The league is moving towards its playoff stage, meanwhile BCCI has issued a 7-page guideline for all the 10 teams. In this, strict rules have been made for the players and team owners and members. Cricketers have also been asked to beware of hona traps. Know what the new rules are.

Beware of honey trap

Players have been asked to beware of honey traps. Honey trapping can lead to serious allegations of sexual misconduct against players or staff. Therefore, all teams have been asked to remain alert at all times to minimize such risks.

What is honey trap? Honey trap means to trap someone through your love, friendship or physical attraction. By doing this, a fraudster can take information from a person which is confidential. In this, the fraudster first wins the trust of the victim through love, and then can take confidential information. By making a photo or video of the victim, he can blackmail him and make him do anything as per his wish.

These rules are included in BCCI guidelines

1. No outsider can enter the hotel room of any player or staff without the written approval of the manager of the IPL team. Be it any relative of the player or staff member, or any of his work.

2. No guest will be taken to the hotel rooms of the players and staff. He can meet guests and visitors only in the designated area.

3. If any player or staff wants to leave the team hotel, he will have to inform the SLO or TIO. He will be able to go out only after his approval.

4. SLO/TIO will keep records of the movement of team players. If the BCCI operations team asks for information, they will have to provide it.

5. During the match, the team owner or his staff will not be able to talk to the players in the team’s dugout or playing area. For this they will need special permission.

6. Players, staff and other officials receive an accreditation card, which they must wear at all times in the stadium, at practice and outside their hotel rooms.

7. The PMOA protocol prescribed by the IPL Operations Division for the entry of team owners will have to be strictly followed.

8. The franchise management will have to give all the information about the protocols to the players and team owners, so that no one has the excuse that they were not aware of the rules.

9. There is a ban on consumption of vape, cigarettes and all banned substances at all IPL venues including team dressing rooms, hotels, dugouts, practice venues.
