Supporters of Thalapathy Vijay’s party Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) have approached the Supreme Court, angry over not receiving an invitation from the Governor to form the new government despite winning the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. TVK supporters have filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court, in which it has been said that the party has not received an invitation to form the government from Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar.
The petition said that Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) has emerged as the largest party in the Tamil Nadu assembly elections, hence it should be given a chance to form the government. Along with this, the writ petition filed in the Supreme Court has sought instructions to the Governor of Tamil Nadu to invite actor Vijay’s party TVK to form the government.
Will hand over letters of support of 121 MLAs to the Governor TVK Chief
According to information received from sources, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Thalapathy Vijay has prepared to submit the letter of support of 121 MLAs to Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar for the formation of a new government in Tamil Nadu.

In the letter to be submitted to the Governor, the support of 107 MLAs of Thalapathy Vijay’s party TVK along with five MLAs of Congress, two MLAs of Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), 2 MLAs of Communist Party of India (CPI), two MLAs of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), two MLAs of Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) and one MLA of Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMML) has been expressed.
What is the whole controversy about government formation in Tamil Nadu??
In fact, in the elections held on 234 assembly seats in Tamil Nadu, Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), the party of actor-turned-politician Joseph Vijay (Thalapathy Vijay), won a big victory on 108 seats. However, TVK Chief Vijay had contested elections from two assembly seats, hence the total figure becomes 107, but the majority figure in Tamil Nadu is 118 seats. Due to which Vijay’s TVK was 11 seats behind. Whereas state Governor RV Arlekar asked the TVK Chief to present majority before the formation of the new government.
