US President Donald Trump has made a big announcement amid the war that has been going on between Russia and Ukraine for more than 4 years. He has said that there will be a three-day ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine. This ceasefire will remain in force till 9 May, 10 May and 11 May. Donald Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social that he is happy to inform that both the countries have agreed on a three-day ceasefire.
Trump said that this is the time to celebrate Victory Day in Russia. Ukraine has also been an important part of the Second World War, hence this time is considered important for both the countries. He said that during this ceasefire all types of military activities will be stopped. Along with this, 1,000 prisoners will also be exchanged between the two countries.

Trump thanked Putin
Trump said in his post that he himself had made this request and for this he thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He expressed hope that this step could prove to be the beginning of ending this long-running dangerous war. Trump said that this is considered to be the biggest conflict after the Second World War and talks are continuing to end it. At the end of his post he said that efforts towards peace are progressing every day and the world is getting closer to the end of this war.
