Punjab Kings, who made a great start in IPL 2026, are going through a difficult phase at the moment. In a recent report, it was claimed that the weight of Punjab Kings’ young opener Prabhsimran Singh has increased by about 10 kg in the last few weeks. The report also said that some players of the team are playing games till late night, missing training sessions and even skipping flights. Due to all these reasons the team’s performance is deteriorating. After consecutive defeats, such news gained momentum on social media and questions started being raised on the team management of Punjab Kings.

Preity Zinta gave a befitting reply
Responding to these news, Preity Zinta clearly said that there is a big difference between criticism and spreading wrong information. He said that healthy discussion about sports is always acceptable, but spreading falsehoods to tarnish the image of a team or player is absolutely wrong. Preity Zinta appealed to people and media organizations to report responsibly. He said that spreading any kind of rumor without verifying the facts can be harmful for both the game and the players.

Punjab Kings management also expressed displeasure
Punjab Kings management also issued a statement calling these reports fabricated. On behalf of the team, it was said that creating false stories to get cheap popularity is against the spirit of the game. He appealed to everyone to share news only after checking the facts. Despite consecutive defeats, the position of Punjab Kings still remains strong. The team has played 11 matches so far in IPL 2026, out of which 6 won, 4 lost and one match remained inconclusive. With 13 points, Punjab Kings are currently at fourth position in the points table and are in the race for the playoffs.
