IPL 2026 is becoming increasingly difficult for Chennai Super Kings. The team that is in the race for the playoffs has suffered another big blow at the crucial juncture of the season. The team’s star all-rounder Jamie Overton has returned to England for treatment after getting injured. His being out of the team at such a time can further increase Chennai’s worries.
CSK informed through social media that Overton is suffering from a right thigh injury and has left for the UK for further investigation and treatment. Although it has not yet been clarified by the franchise whether he will be out of the entire tournament or not, but it is considered difficult for him to play in the upcoming matches.
Overton has been among the most influential players of Chennai this season. He has strengthened the team on many occasions with both ball and bat. So far, he has taken 14 wickets in fast bowling and remains the second most successful bowler of the team. His performance has consistently proved to be match winning for CSK.
