Lucknow Super Giants have given a big blow to Chennai Super Kings and defeated them by 7 wickets. Lucknow team achieved the target of 188 runs set by CSK with 20 balls remaining. Lucknow team is already out of the playoff race, but with this big win it has spoiled the game of CSK.
In this match played at Ekana Stadium, due to Karthik Sharma’s half-century inning of 71 runs and then Shivam Dubey’s storm, Chennai batsmen had put 187 runs on the scoreboard. Dubey played a cameo inning of 32 runs in 16 balls.
Lucknow’s bumper win
Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis gave a great start to Lucknow Super Giants, who came to chase the target of 188 runs. There was a partnership of 135 runs between them for the first wicket, which put Lucknow on the front foot. English was out after scoring 36 runs. Chennai Super Kings also made a comeback in the middle overs, as Mukesh Chaudhary and Spencer Johnson dismissed three Lucknow batsmen within 9 runs.
The happiness of Chennai team did not last long because Nicholas Pooran was holding one end. After three setbacks, the Lucknow team was slowly moving towards the target. But Nicholas Puran sealed Lucknow’s victory in the 17th over by hitting 4 consecutive sixes in Anshul Kamboj’s over. Anshul gave away 63 runs in just 2.3 overs in this match. With this, he has become the second most expensive bowler of CSK in the history of IPL.

Shock to CSK
