Taking a big initiative, Uttar Pradesh Education Directorate has sent the requisition of 23,213 vacant posts to Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission, Prayagraj. In the letter sent to the Commission by the Office of the Director of Education (Secondary), Prayagraj, it has been told that the posts of institution heads and teachers in thousands of aided schools of the state are vacant for a long time. These posts will be filled through direct recruitment. Information was collected from the districts on the prescribed format and on the basis of that, this demand has been made to the Commission. There are a total of 4512 non-government aided secondary schools in UP. Out of these, complete details of 4479 schools have been collected and sent to the Commission. This means that now the way for starting the recruitment process is almost clear.
How many posts will be recruited
- Principal – 1502 posts
- Headmaster – 1003 posts
- Spokesperson – 2705 posts
- Assistant Teacher – 16,114 posts
- Assistant Teacher of Affiliated Primary – 1889 Posts

The direct impact of vacancy in schools was visible on education. In many places, the same teacher had to teach different subjects like mathematics, science and social science. Administrative work was also getting affected due to the absence of a principal or headmaster. Children’s regular education, timely examinations and school system were all being affected. The Education Department believes that after recruitment on these posts, the condition of schools will improve. Children will get teachers according to the subject and the quality of education will be better.

Work is also being done on online portal
This time, technology is being used to make the recruitment process fast and transparent. The data of all these vacant posts is being uploaded online on the e-requisition portal prepared by NIC Lucknow. That means, along with the paper work, digital records are also being prepared, so that there is no problem in future. For more details, candidates should keep an eye on the official website.
