India vs Sri Lanka 2026 Test Series: These days, cricket fans seem to be completely busy with IPL 2026. The league matches of the tournament are at an end. Meanwhile, a big update came out regarding the Test series to be held between India and Sri Lanka, in which it was told that the red ball series between the two will start from the second week of August.
A report published in Cricbuzz said that the dates have not been announced yet for the 2-match Test series starting from the second week of August. But according to the sources of BCCI and Sri Lanka Cricket Board, the matches can be seen between 15th to 27th August.
Sri Lanka fixed a window of 2 weeks
Sri Lanka Cricket has set a two-week window for the matches, which are part of the current ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle. However, there has been no confirmation yet regarding the three T20 International matches to be included in the tour.
Both these Test matches will be played after the Lanka Premier League (LPL), which ends on August 9 and information about the scheduled window has been shared with all stakeholders associated with the series, including the Indian team.
Official information is yet to come from the board
It is worth noting that till now no official schedule of any kind has been released by the Sri Lanka Cricket Board or the Board of Control for Cricket in India regarding this series. The official schedule will include the dates, venues and other things of the matches.
Previous test series between India and Sri Lanka
It is noteworthy that the last Test series between India and Sri Lanka was played in March 2022. In the series, Team India had whitewashed Sri Lanka 2-0. In the first Test played in Mohali, India won by an innings and 222 runs. In the second test held in Bengaluru, the Indian team won by 238 runs.
