Batting first at MA Chidambaram Cricket Stadium, CSK scored 180 runs on the scoreboard after losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Dewald Brevis played a strong inning of 44 runs in 27 balls, while Karthik Sharma was out after scoring 32 runs in 19 balls. Whereas, Sanju Samson contributed 27 runs.

However, SRH achieved the target of 181 runs in 19 overs by losing 5 wickets. Ishan Kishan played a brilliant inning of 70 runs in 47 balls, while Heinrich Klaasen faced just 26 balls and scored 47 runs with the help of 6 fours and 2 sixes. Together, they made an important partnership of 75 runs in 41 balls for the third wicket.
