Karthik used to go to audition secretly
It is noteworthy that Karthik, who came from a family with no film background or industry connections, reportedly used to go to Mumbai for auditions secretly during his college days. While continuing his studies, he traveled across the city for auditions and it was only after signing his first film that he told his parents about his dream of an acting career.

Used to cook food for his roommates
However, during his struggling days, instead of taking money from his parents to manage his expenses, Karthik lived with other struggling actors in a simple shared apartment, where the roommates shared daily responsibilities and Karthik would often cook food for everyone. Interestingly, years after achieving success in Bollywood, Karthik reportedly bought the same apartment where he once lived as a struggler.
‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ completes 15 years
Today, on 20th May, when ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ has completed 15 years, Karthik’s journey has become an inspiration for many outsiders who dream of making a big name in the industry. Currently, this film directed by Luv Ranjan has achieved cult status with time, but Karthik still considers himself to be what he was, connected to his roots.
