IPL 2026 has been no less than a nightmare for Lucknow Super Giants. The team missed qualifying for the playoffs for the second consecutive time. Lucknow was the first team to be out of the playoff race this season. Lucknow has played 13 matches so far. During this period he has won only four matches. Lucknow is at the lowest i.e. 10th position in the points table. After this shameful performance in IPL 2026, many players may be released from the team.
1- Abdul Samad
Abdul Samad, known for his stormy batting in domestic cricket, could not do anything special for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2026. This season has been no less than a nightmare for Samad. Abdul Samad has played seven matches so far in IPL 2026. During this period only 79 runs came from his bat. Abdul Samad was bought by Lucknow for Rs 4.20 crore.
2- Aiden Markram
South Africa’s T20 captain Aiden Markram also could not do anything amazing in IPL 2026. Aiden Markram was taken by Lucknow for Rs 2 crore. In IPL 2026, Markram could score only 231 runs in 12 matches. During this period, no half-century came from his bat.
3- Ayush Badoni
Ayush Badoni has scored only 172 runs in IPL 2026. Badoni was taken by Lucknow Supergiants for a huge sum of Rs 4 crore. Now Badoni can be released before IPL 2027.
4- Mayank Yadav
Mayank Yadav, who has made a special mark with his stormy speed, can be released before IPL 2027. Lucknow Super Giants had spent Rs 11 crore for Mayank Yadav, but he could not perform as per expectations.
5- Rishabh Pant
Rishabh Pant has scored 286 runs so far in IPL 2026. As a batsman, he has failed in a way, but as a captain, this was his second consecutive flop season. Lucknow had made the biggest bid for Pant in IPL history. He was bought for Rs 27 crore. Now Lucknow can release him.
